ISSUE: Forgotten admin password for TeraStation or LinkStation
CAUSE: TeraStation or LinkStation forgotten or managed by another person
PLATFORMS: TeraStation NAS / LinkStation NAS
SOLUTION:
TeraStation - HD-H or HS-D - No Door - Silver Chasis
1. Look for the Init button on back of device.
2. Press and hold for 10 seconds. The Diag led will start flashing. All settings have been changed to default.
TeraStation Pro / Pro II / Pro II Rackmount / Live / Pro II iSCSI / Pro II iSCSI Rackmount
1. Open the front panel and look under the left corner of the LCD screen for the red Init button.
2.
Press and hold the red button for 10 seconds. The device will start
beeping. The password and IP address has been changed to default.
LinkStation- HD-H LAN, HD-HG LAN, HS-D GL or LS-L GL
1. Look for the Init button on back of device.
2. Press and hold for 10 seconds. The Diag led will start flashing. All settings have been changed to default.
LinkStation- LS GL, HS-DH GL or LS-W TGL/R1 Ver. 1
1. Look for the Init button on back of device.
2. Press and hold the red button for 10
seconds. The device will start beeping (no beep for LS-W TGL/R1). The password and IP address has
been changed to default.
LinkStation - LS-W TGL/R1 Ver. 3 or LS-WS GL/R1
1. Move the power switch to OFF and let the unit power down.
2. Then move the power switch to On while press and holding the
Function Button. The Function LED will begin to flash blue for a minute.
3. While the Function LED is Flashing, push the Function Button
again to begin the initialization process. All settings have been changed to default.
