DriveStation™ Combo 4 is an easy to use 1-drive storage solution for PC and Mac computers that combines four interface connections. Instantly expand storage or schedule automatic PC or Mac backups with plug and play connectivity. With 4 ways to connect and terabytes of storage, users can transfer and store tons of digital content swiftly and securely.
VERSATILE AND FAST
Designed with universal connectivity in mind, the DriveStation Combo 4 is equipped with four interfaces for speed, compatibility and convenience. USB 2.0 offers a standard connection for every computer, while FireWire 400/800 provides faster speeds, perfect for Mac users and for graphic design and photo and video editing. Also available is an eSATA connection for high-speed data transfers, perfect for creative professionals.

EASY SCHEDULED PC & MAC BACKUP
DriveStation Combo 4 is perfect for backing up your important files. Disaster and hard drive failures can occur unexpectedly; don't leave your important files and treasured memories in the hands of chance. Schedule regular backups for your PC with Buffalo Backup Utility or use Time Machine for your Mac backups. Protect all of your data, down to the last byte.
BUFFALO TOOLS
Buffalo Tools is a feature-rich suite of optional software included on many Buffalo DriveStation and MiniStation storage products. Any or all of the following components of Buffalo Tools may be installed on Windows PCs.
- Buffalo's Backup Utility is an easy-to-use and fully featured backup software for Windows PCs and can be used to back up one or multiple computers with a single Buffalo external hard drive.
- eco Manager is an energy efficiency tool used to conserve energy and reduce battery consumption by regulating the power usage of the hard drive, cutting power to the drive during extended periods of inactivity.
- RAMDISK is a simple utility that allows you to create a RAM disk on your Windows PC which creates a small, but extremely fast environment to work on files in.
- SecureLock software for Windows® provides complete control of the data encryption on your Buffalo external hard drive, providing password protection and software data encryption.

FAQs
- Can I replace the hard drives in my DriveStation Combo4 by myself?

During the warranty period, please send the unit back to Buffalo Technology and we will replace any defective drives for you. If maintaining your warranty is no longer a concern, most 7200 rpm SATA drives from reputable manufacturers will work fine in the DriveStation. Because of thermal and power issues, the use of drives with speeds higher than 7200 rpm is not recommended.

All Buffalo DriveStation products come preformatted and are ready to use.
close - Is the DriveStationCombo4 compatible with Windows Server 2000, 2003 or 2008?

Yes. The DriveStation Combo4 works perfectly with Windows Server 2000, 2003 and 2008. However, some of the included software (Memeo AutoBackup) is not compatible with server versions of Windows.
close - Will my DriveStation Combo4 work on my Mac?

Yes, the DriveStation Combo4 will work perfectly on your Mac with OS X 10.4.11 and later. However, keep in mind that the DriveStation is pre-formatted with a FAT32 file system. Certain Mac features (TimeMachine) will require that you re-format the DriveStation with your Mac for the HFS Plus file system.
