Buffalo Tools is a feature-rich suite of optional software included on many Buffalo DriveStation and MiniStation storage products. | • Can I use DriveStataion Axis USB 3.0 with a PC or Mac®? |
| DriveStation Axis USB 3.0 can be used with PC and Mac computers out of the box with no installation or formatting necessary. However, the Buffalo Tools and the hardware encryption feature only work on Windows® PCs. |
| • Can I replace the hard drive in DriveStation Axis USB 3.0 by myself? |
| DriveStation Axis USB 3.0 comes equipped with a hard drive installed. It is not designed for nor does it support user hard drive replacement. Doing so will void the product warranty. The internal hard drive is a standard 3.5” SATA HDD. |
| • How does TurboPC work? |
| DriveStation Axis USB 3.0 features Buffalo Tools and TurboPC. TurboPC also includes the TurboCopy component. Together, these two pieces of Windows® software enhance the USB connection between your PC and the drive and adds an additional file manager tool for copying files quicker. By utilizing the PC's high-speed RAM, data can be transferred much more efficiently and quickly. Depending on the environment, TurboPC and Turbo Copy can provide file transfers over twice as fast. On average, gains up to 4X are typical. |
