MiniStation Stealth is a high performance portable storage solution in a remarkably compact and lightweight contemporary form. Simply plug it into any available USB port on your PC or Mac® computer and instantly add capacity or store files to take on the road. MiniStation Stealth’s compact design occupies minimal space and it’s USB powered so there are no additional cables to manage and no need for a separate power source.
Included with the Stealth is Buffalo’s multi-purpose Buffalo Tools utility suite designed to enhance Windows® PC performance and user experience. It features TurboPC, a utility designed to enhance PC performance for up to 2X faster file transfers. Also included, Buffalo's Backup Utility protects your important files and documents by backing up your PCs to your Buffalo external hard drive and it provides an easy-to-use data restore function. Store, back up and transport your content instantly with plug and play connectivity.

| • Is MiniStation Stealth ruggedized? |
| MiniStation Stealth is designed with style and portability in mind; it does not contain any shock absorbing components and is not recommended in environments where it will be subject to shocks and drops. Please see the MiniStation Metro for ruggedized applications. |
| • Can I replace the hard drives in MiniStation Stealth by myself? |
| MiniStation Stealth comes equipped with a hard drive installed. It is not designed for nor does it support for users hard drive replacement. Doing so will void the product warranty. The internal hard drive is a standard 2.5” SATA HDD. |
| • Does MiniStation Stealth work with Mac OS? |
| Yes, MiniStation Stealth supports Mac OS X. However, components of Buffalo Tools may not work in Mac OS. |
| • Does MiniStation Stealth support Apple Time Machine? |
| Yes, MiniStation Stealth supports Time Machine. |
| • How fast is the hard drive inside MiniStation Stealth? |
| MiniStation Stealth features, at minimum, a high-speed 5,400rpm SATA hard drive. USB 2.0 interfaces are considerably slower than hard drive speeds so the need for higher speed hard drives is not necessary. Higher speed hard drives produce more heat and use more power; 5,400 rpm was optimally chosen for reliability, performance and power utilization. |
| • Do I need any software to use MiniStation Stealth? |
| MiniStation Stealth does not require any software to use as an external hard drive in Windows or Mac. The Buffalo Tools suite is optional software that provides performance enhancing technologies, backup and encryption amongst other features. To use these features, software components must be used. |
| • Can I use a longer USB cable with MiniStation Stealth? |
| Yes, MiniStation Stealth features a standard Mini-USB connection and supports use with user supplied USB cables. |
| • Can I encrypt data on MiniStation Stealth? |
| MiniStation Stealth supports SecureLock Software Encryption for Windows PCs. SecureLock allows users to encrypt the device using software and processing power from the Windows PC, preventing access to hard drive's data without the specified password. |
| • How does TurboPC work? |
| MiniStation Stealth features Buffalo Tools and TurboPC. TurboPC also includes the TurboCopy component. Together, these two pieces of Windows® software enhance the USB connection between your PC and the drive and add an additional file manager tool for copying files quicker. By utilizing the PC's high-speed RAM, data can be transferred much more efficiently and quickly. Depending on the environment, TurboPC and Turbo Copy can provide file transfers over twice as fast. On average, gains of around 50+% are typical. |
