Buffalo's free WebAccess service allows LinkStation and TeraStation NAS users to easily access and share files on their Buffalo NAS with anyone who has access to the Internet. Simply send a link via e-mail to your friends and family and they can securely access the files you've selected for them to see. No special software is required.

Access Your Files on the Road: Have you ever been on a business trip and realized you forgot to copy a presentation onto your notebook? Maybe you just forgot to copy your favorite MP3s, videos or photos onto your MP3 player or portable hard drive. With Buffalo's WebAccess, you can always access your Buffalo NAS and its stored data, no matter where you are.

Quickly connect to your NAS device from any Web browser and you can browse your file shares and directories. It's that simple.

Listen to Your Favorite Music: Buffalo's WebAccess has an integrated Flash™ MP3 player* that allows you to stream your favorite music over the Web. Simply press the play button on any MP3 and enjoy your music from anywhere. (* MP3 player cannot playback DRM protected MP3s).

Apple iPhone®, iPod® touch and iPad® Support: Buffalo's WebAccess service is accessible from Buffalo's own WebAccess i App for iPhone and iPod touch and the WebAccess i HD App for iPad. This unique app puts your Buffalo NAS solution at your fingertips no matter where you are and give you has direct access to multiple terabytes of storage! The Buffalo WebAccess i and WebAccess i HD Apps serve to optimize your media, rendering the content for proper display on the smaller screen of your mobile device. Both WebAccess i and WebAccess i HD are available for free from the Apple App Store.

Access Your Multimedia Library: Play back music and movie collections from anywhere to your iPhone or iPad over a 3G or Wi-Fi connection. Photo files are automatically resized by the Buffalo NAS device to create seamless and fast photo access with thumbnails.

With iPhone Web Access, your iPhone has direct access to multiple TeraBytes of storage! You can even watch videos that are located on the NAS at home from your iPhone on the road.

View Your Digital Photos: WebAccess integrates a digital photo viewer that fits images of any resolution to your screen, making it fast and easy to browse through multiple images with just a click of the mouse. Sharing photos is simple!

Upload Files to Your Buffalo NAS from Anywhere: In addition to downloading and viewing content, Buffalo WebAccess also supports file uploads from any standard Web browser; easily share files with friends and family and vice versa from anywhere. Best of all, you are not limited by your email server or service anymore, which may impose restrictions on file size or content type.

How Does it Work?

www.BuffaloNAS.com is the portal site responsible for establishing a peer-to-peer connection between Buffalo NAS (Network Attached Storage) devices, such as LinkStation and TeraStation products and users' Web browsers.

Simply send your friends a link to your NAS device (e.g. http://www.buffalonas.com/BobsLinkStation). Your friends simply click on the link and see your files; it doesn't get any easier than that!

What About Security?

Rest assured your Buffalo WebAccess server is configurable to allow restricted access to any files or folders. Through WebAccess, you can make all files and folders or select portions of your Buffalo NAS device accessible from the Internet. You decide to restrict or allow access to folders and files.

Folders can be set up to allow anonymous access while other directories require usernames and passwords for access. You can also mark folders as read-only or they can be configured to allow users to rename, delete and even upload files.

Access to the Buffalo WebAccess service is available over HTTPS 128-bit secured connections. This is the same technology web sites use when you provide your credit card information.

Finally, BuffaloNAS.com or Buffalo Technology does not have any access to your data. It is only used to initiate a peer-to-peer connection between the remote user and your private NAS device.
