Buffalo Americas Launches New TeraStation 3020 Family of Network Storage (NAS) for Small Business

Buffalo Americas, a leading provider of easy-to-use technology solutions and award-winning pre- and post-sales support, is announcing the new TeraStation 3020 family of Network Attached Storage solutions. This new NAS family will be available in 2-bay and 4-bay desktop and 1U rackmount form factors, and is purpose-built to provide professional business-class storage solutions for small businesses who are serious about taking their data storage and security to the next level—without breaking their budget.

Designed for small businesses in mind, the TS3020 aims to deliver reliability and flexibility, as well as business-class data storage technology such as server expansion support and a 2.5GbE Ready port. The 2-bay unit will be available fully-populated with 4, 8, and 16TB capacities, while the 4-bay desktop and 1U rackmount units will be available fully- or partially-populated with 4, 8, 16, & 32TB capacities. The partially-populated models allow businesses to buy into the storage solution at an entry-level price to meet their current data needs, while enjoying the versatility to be able to increase capacity as they see fit in the future. TS3020 models will come with NAS-grade hard drives included and RAID pre-configured, ensuring out-of-the-box reliability and ease-of-use.

For businesses who are short on server space as well as budget, the TS3020 offers integration with Amazon S3, Dropbox, and Microsoft OneDrive and Azure, allowing businesses to implement a hybrid cloud. Small businesses who may already depend on third-party cloud services can utilize hybrid cloud to lower monthly cloud costs. The TS3020 also offers iSCSI support for easy server storage expansion without the need for specialized equipment or IT staff. The included 2.5GbE Ready Port provides 2.5 times faster transfer speed without the need to upgrade to CAT6 cabling, allowing businesses to store and access data even faster on the same network.

Widely known to provide the Most Secure Storage on the market, Buffalo holds data security as a priority when designing our NAS devices. The TS3020 series offers multi-layer security features to help businesses better protect their data, including physical security features such as a front panel lock for the desktop devices and a Kensington security slot. Buffalo also aims to alleviate cyber threats by offering the TS3020 on a closed system to severely limit third party access to root rights, and further protects stored data by including the option to encrypt the drives with AES 256-bit encryption. The ability to implement a hybrid cloud offers an additional layer of data security by allowing businesses to keep essential data local while uploading non-essential data to the cloud.

Buffalo BS-MP multi-gigabit switches are an excellent complementary device to unlock the TeraStation 3020 NAS network potential.
