The models with WSS 2008 R2 Workgroup Edition support a maximum of 50 simultaneous SMB connections, meaning that at any one given time, a maximum of 50 users can connect to it. The TeraStation Pro Rackmount WSS is configured with WSS 2008 R2 Standard Edition and supports unlimited connections. With a powerful dual-core CPU, it is designed for high load, however, depending on application and use, the device can only support up to a certain amount of users. For light office use, supporting hundreds of simultaneous users shouldn't be a problem, but more intensive applications like video, backups, etc. can reduce the number of users. |

Using Remote Differential Compression (RDC) and detecting insertions, removals and data re-arrangement, DFSR replicates only actual data that changed and doesn't retransmit entire files, making it extremely effective for replicating data over the Internet. |
