Enabling FIPS 140 on Buffalo Windows Server IoT
FIPS 140 (Federal Information Processing Standard Publication 140) defines the minimum security requirements for cryptographic modules to be used within the government environment.

Enable the FIPS security policy
1. Open “gpedit.msc” by searching it from the Windows search console.
2. From the “Local Group Policy Editor”
Select “Windows Setting”
then “Security Settings”
and then “Local Policies”
and then “Security Options”
3. Inside “Security Options”
At the right, select and double click on “System cryptography: Use FIPS-compliant algorithms for encryption, hashing, and signing”
4. Change Setting to "Enabled"
